Brilliant & Shining

Along with all of the cute and tough Pokémon on full display during the trailer, Nintendo has revealed some of the new features in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Amity Square allows for trainers to release all six of their teammates out of their Pokéballs. Trainers can play with their Pokémon and they can be called to them via a whistle. Trainers can also make poffins to share with their loyal companions as a delicious treat! The minigame appears to be fairly similar to making curry in Pokémon Sword and Shield.

Perhaps the most important new feature, Pokétch allows trainers to call upon wild Pokémon to perform moves that were previously locked behind hidden moves, or HMs. This will allow trainers to build a team that they see fit rather than having to build a team along with a single or two Pokémon that hold all of the HM moves. This feature is similar to the ride pager found in Pokémon Sun and Moon.

Nobles & Wardens

New details, new characters, new boss fights, and new Pokémon! The new details  about Pokémon Legends: Arceus are abound!

Noble Pokémon are powerful new boss fights. These Pokémon can become frenzied which make them even more difficult to battle and catch. The first noble Pokémon shown is Kleavor, a bug/rock-type Pokémon that is a new evolution for Scyther.

In addition to nobles, new characters known as wardens have been shown off. Wardens protect special Pokémon by ensuring their territories remain safe and provide them with food and water.

Finally, Nintendo revealed that during the journey, the player character will receive a Celestica Flute which will allow the player to ride certain Pokémon. This feature is similar to the ride pager found in Pokémon Sun and Moon. Shown off were the abilities to traverse the landscape quickly, surf, and fly. Players can even throw Pokéballs while riding!
